Local Legends: Olympics
Siete and Skylark collaborated to bring Local Legends back for a second year in 2024 - with Naomi Girma and Jenna Nighswonger during their memorable run in Paris.
Through the Local Legends campaign, Siete supported the people who supported these two USA stars by organizing huge parties to celebrate their participation in the Olympics. Each viewing party was planned in collaboration with the players and hosted at a venue in the players’ hometown. Siete invited the players’ teammates, friends, family, youth coaches, neighbors and the wider soccer community.
Guests at the events received a Local Legends swag bag with custom Local Legends hat and canvas tote bag stocked with Siete chips and goodies. Skylark captured photo content from each Local Legends event that was shared on Siete and the athlete’s social media platforms.
Through the Siete Foods Local Legends program, Siete was able to provide community giveback and increase goodwill across San Diego and Huntington Beach. Over 250 San Diego soccer fans attended the event in San Diego, including members of the official San Diego Wave Supporters Group and Naomi’s teammates with Wave FC. More than 150 of Jenna Nighswonger’s friends and family packed the event at Huntington Beach.
Major media outlets showed up to cover the Siete Local Legends events. Outlets like CBS NBC/Telemundo, and Spectrum were present to cover the parties and talk to the players’ family and friends as well as the Siete representatives. Skylark worked with NBC to have the watch party mentioned on the Olympics telecast, one of the highest-rated television events of the games. In total, over 150 news outlets picked up the Local Legends campaign for a potential audience of tens of millions.
