Skylark and the National Women’s Soccer League collaborated to execute an impactful fan engagement activation ahead of the 2023 NWSL Championship match in San Diego.

Skylark enlisted San Diego-based muralists Signe Ditona and Paul Jimenez of GroundFloor Murals to create a mural in Downtown San Diego that would drive engagement and awareness of the Championship match while showcasing the new Tiffany-designed trophy. Skylark collaborated with the NWSL Creative team to finalize the creative direction and ensure the new trophy was presented authentically.

The mural was located in a high-density area within walking distance to San Diego City Hall, the Civic Theater, Fifth Avenue, and several trolley lines. The location garnered nearly 100,000 weekly impressions according to Placer Labs data and more than 100,000 riders take the Trolley each day in San Diego.

The activation was designed to expand the league’s footprint to key locations in San Diego while creating social friendly and shareable moments to help drive interest and tune-in for the match.
