A Global Moment, Local Impact: The T-20 World Cup Trophy Visits Seattle
As the excitement built for the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup in the United States, the International Cricket Council (ICC) partnered with Skylark to bring a piece of the tournament directly to Seattle. The World Cup Trophy Tour created a once-in-a-lifetime moment for cricket fans in the Pacific Northwest — and an opportunity to grow the sport’s presence in the region.
Staging a Global Symbol at an Iconic Landmark Skylark coordinated with Seattle’s iconic Space Needle to host a PR and media moment featuring ICC dignitaries, Seattle Orcas ownership, Seattle’s mayor, and U.S. international cricketer Harmeet Singh. The trophy’s appearance high above the city skyline offered an unforgettable photo op and media opportunity that tied local pride to the global cricket stage.
Connecting with the Community Alongside the ICC and Seattle Orcas, Skylark helped organize a fan-facing event at Bellevue Downtown Park. More than 1,000 fans came out to see the trophy in person, engage with players, and celebrate the upcoming tournament. The event generated major social media coverage — including photo and video features on ICC channels, which reach over 30 million followers — and boosted local awareness of cricket, Major League Cricket, and the World Cup itself.
